York Region has the shortest deadline in the GTA. Food vendors submit the Vendor Application Event Form to York Region Community and Health Services at least 10 days before the event, with the organizer submitting their own form alongside it. Forms go to health.inspectors@york.ca, and York Region Health Connection is on 1-800-361-5653. A public health inspector will make contact before the date.
Elsewhere in the region
Aurora shares its process with the rest of York Region Public Health's area, so if your event moves within the region the deadline stays the same at 10 days (vendor form). Crossing into the City of Toronto changes it to 30 days (organizer notification) with a Food Safety Management Plan, so confirm the health unit for the actual venue address.
Schools in Aurora
Mr Corn is a TDSB Preferred Vendor, which covers Toronto schools. Schools in Aurora are served by the York Region District School Board, which sets its own vendor requirements. We cater Aurora schools regularly and will supply insurance, food handler certification and health inspection paperwork to whatever your school office asks for — just tell us what they need.
What we need on site in Aurora
Roughly 20×20 ft for a full BBQ setup, or about 30 ft of clear access lane for the food truck.
